This Sunday: Evan Medeiros, President Obama’s Former Top Asia Adviser

Evan-at-Brookings-podium-2-215x253

It’s still early in the US election cycle, but China has been a major talking point for America’s presidential hopefuls. How do we separate facts from bluster? This Sunday, we’re hosting a speaker who can help do just that.

Dr. Evan Medeiros, President Obama’s former top adviser on Asia, will join Beijingers for Blue States to discuss, in a special off-the-record talk, the stakes for the US relationship with China in the 2016 elections and how a future Democratic candidate might handle U.S.-China relations and Asia policy in the next administration.

Dr. Medeiros was the Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the White House’s National Security Council (NSC) until June 2015. Prior to that, he served as the Director for China, Taiwan and Mongolian affairs and was a senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation.

Note: Due to high demand, The Bookworm can NOT take reservations for this event. Please order your tickets online or buy them in person at The Bookworm.
