Craft Gin Tasting: Saturday, August 15, Try 3 Delicious Gins Made in Oregon

Ransom Dry Gin

For those who like gin and those who’d like to learn more about it, we have an event for you. On Saturday, August 15 at 6:30 pm, we’re hosting a gin tasting on our rooftop. Not just any gin tasting of course: handcrafted, small-batch gins made in Oregon, one of which is distilled using organic juniper, another of which is fashioned after Holland’s wine genevers, and another developed by master mixologist David Wondrich. All three are eminently sippable — which is what we’ll do first — and great for cocktails. Yes, we’ll throw in a cocktail.

Here’s how it works:

1. RSVP by emailing Availability is limited, and we can accommodate only on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. Pay 160 RMB when you arrive.

3. Get introduced to three different Oregon-made gins — the Ransom Dry Gin, Ransom Old Tom, and New Deal Gin No. 1 (more information about each can be found here) — and taste them (neat is recommended, though we can provide ice).

4. Select a cocktail from our list, which we’ll make for you free of charge. (One exception: add 10 RMB if you’d like the martini.)

The tasting will be conducted by Crystal Lee of Beijing Liang Ji Trading, which distributes Clear Creek, Ransom, and New Deal products.

For more information about the gins on offer, please see The Bookworm’s gin page.

As always, you can come to The Bookworm to try these and other wonderful spirits. (Psst, for example: this beauty.) And keep an eye on this space for an announcement soon about a craft whisky tasting at the end of this month.
